project: introduce yourself
A 7×9in single-page InDesign layout divided into nine cells using guides, each filled with a unique fun fact using type and shape tools with varied fill and stroke colors and at least one glyph. No raster graphics were used. Finalized with preflight cleanup and packaged with an IDML file, an exported image, and a Prints folder containing two PDF exports — one scaled to fit 8.5×11in with printer's marks and bleeds, and one at 100% size without marks or bleed.
project: spot colors
A single-page spot color poster designed in Adobe InDesign using exactly two custom-named spot colors with optional tints and gradients saved to the Swatches panel. Technical requirements include custom vector shapes, rotated and sheared objects, stroke and fill colors, and Effects dialog treatments. Finalized with Separations Preview verification, preflight cleanup, and a packaged deliverable including IDML, an exported image, and color separation screenshots.
project: styles for efficiency
A 4-page InDesign book layout built around sourced text from Project Gutenberg. The project features a designed cover page followed by three chapter spreads, each formatted using a shared system of paragraph styles for chapter titles and body copy, and object styles applied to unique decorative vector elements. Production setup includes 6×8in trim size with standard bleeds, a .5in slug used to log source URLs, and hidden character cleanup to ensure clean typesetting throughout. Type settings like space after paragraph, first-line indent, and leading replace manual line breaks for proper style-driven formatting.
project: interactive pdf
A 5-page horizontal interactive PDF built in Adobe InDesign using a 1024×768px web preset. The project features a contact page with portrait, three fun fact spreads, and a closing end page, tied together through a consistent layout system using layers, paragraph styles, and object styles. Interactive elements include navigational buttons, URL and page hyperlinks, and bookmarks for each of the nine fun facts. Exported as an Interactive PDF and published via Publish Online for dual-format delivery.
project: multipage newsletter
A 4-page print-ready newsletter designed in Adobe InDesign using a structured 3-column grid layout. The project involved full production setup including bleeds, slugs, and printer's marks, with threaded text frames, paragraph styles, a custom Pathfinder logo, and a CMYK color palette loaded from Adobe Swatch Exchange files.
